Hoppy Easter!

This week, we have been working on an Easter banner to decorate at our house. I printed out the letters on cardstock and Gracie and Georgia helped me cut them out. We picked out pastel scrapbook paper at Hobby Lobby and cut out larger circles to mount the letters on. I punched holes in the circles and ran a ribbon through them and we finished off the ends with extra scraps of ribbon and tulle. The girls are so proud of themselves and I am too! Gracie is really the craftiest kid I know, and at this point I am struggling to keep up with her and come up with fun activities! We also printed out extra bunnies and hung them from the arms of the chandelier over our table. All we need now is the Easter Bunny...

Picture Day

Today was Picture Day for Grace and Georgia at school. I thought it was so weird to be on the same day (not to mention inconvenient) but both girls got to break out some new Spring clothes for the occasion. They are both such fashionistas, and it has been torture since we bought some of their new Spring clothes and it was too cold to wear them, so they were super excited to get to finally show them off today. Daddy took Gracie to school today so I didn't get her picture, plus it was still dark when she left for school. Here is Georgia though and she's wearing what she calls her "party shoes". I guess since they're solid glitter the name is apt!

We are ready for pretty weather and our favorite time of the year!

Happy Birthday Gigi's!

On Thursday, we celebrated the fourth "Birthday" of Gigi's with a Spring Open House for my shop. We gave a free gift with every purchase, and even had a birthday cake shaped like a Vera Bradley bag! Everything was a huge success, but I am glad it's over. It takes a lot to plan a successful event but it is so much fun when it turns out all right. My favorite thing in life is spending time with my sweet girls, but my shop gives me such happiness and is truly a dream fulfilled. Not only do I get to run the shop I have been dreaming about since my first job fourteen years ago, but it allows me the flexibility to be off and spend time with Grace and Georgia. What a lucky girl!

Here's a shot of my cake...adorable!

Spring Awakening

Sunday afternoon I went to the Fox Theater with my friend Eron to see Spring Awakening. It was fabulous! We had a great time, and although I was sad I couldn't take my theater-loving girl Gracie, it was completely inappropriate for her. Luckily, I am a big girl and I could go! I always love going to the theater but this was a real treat!

Field Trip

Today, Georgia's school went on a field trip the The Grande Theater in town to see a show by a local storyteller. I couldn't snap any pictures in there, but Georgia loved it! Sometimes I worry that she doesn't get excited about activities like her sister always has, but today she was on! A lot of times at the movies or during a party, I look over to see her eyes glazed over like she's so bored it hurts. Today though, she really enjoyed herself and was participating like a good girl! She clapped when she was supposed to, stood up and danced around and had an all around great time! She's acting like such a big girl now!

Silking

Little Georgia is such a snuggly girl. She loves to suck her thumb, cuddle up, and "silk"things. In case you're unfamiliar with "silking", it involves methodically rubbing silky fabrics between fingers and cheek, usually while thumb sucking! Georgia coined the term herself, and is a pro at silking. She is so funny to watch when she realizes a toy or something has a silky part-she grabs it like a fiend! The other day as we were leaving a restaurant, Georgia passed a table where a lady had her coat hanging on the back of her chair. As she walked by, Georgia started silking the lady's jacket! Horrified, I told her to come on...she just couldn't pass it up! It bothers me a little that she sucks her thumb so much, but I learned with Gracie that if she really wants to do it she's going to do it.

Georgia snuggling, sucking, and silking all at once!
