I'm Outta Here!

The girls are heading to the beach for two weeks with my Mom and Dad. Here they are ready to go just before Blaine's party. Notice their pirate shirts to wear to the Pirate themed birthday party!

Happy Birthday Blaine!

Happy Birthday to Blaine! The girls celebrated Blaine's first birthday with him and we all had so much fun! It was the first party at their new house and it was a big success. After the party the girls left for the beach with my parents.

Caroline's New House

My sister Caroline just got a new house just in time for my nephew Blaine's first birthday! The girls and I gave her a hand getting her house decorated in time for the party. Here are a few pics from her new house! It's so cute, I know her soon to be two boys will love living here and having so much room to play and be BOYS!

This is a pie safe we took from my Mom's house and painted. It looks so much better now and is perfect in Caroline's house. It used to be so ugly I can't believe it's the same piece!

A Little Redecorating

So after five years in our house I have the redecorating bug. I love decorating. LOVE IT! When we moved into this house five years ago, it was our first home. We had very little in the way of furniture we could reuse because we were coming from a very small home with small rooms and small furniture and the scale was all wrong for this house. Needless to say, we had to cut a lot of corners the first time around when decorating and I've been wanting to do a lot ever since but I hated to replace new things so soon. So far I've painted the dining room a beautiful shade of blue (Benjamin Moore Raindance) and refinished my dining room table and china hutch black. I also took out the wooden grids in the hutch behind the glass. I got some fabulous new drapery hardware and window treatments from my decorator at Room Within (www.roomwithin.com) which I LOVE!!! It seems like a small thing, but I have wanted to concert my 2 1/2 " rods to 4" rods forever. I also recovered the chairs with new fabric that I embroidered with by initial and a laurel wreath. I matched up the color of the thread with the wall color. I also covered the chandelier shades with a smaller version of the embroidered design. I picked out a new wall color to compliment the new sofa and chair, but I haven't painted the living room yet. Soon though.
New wall color next to a pillow.

New dining room so far

New chair and end table

New sofa...I think I'm gonna get that little pillow in the middle monogrammed:)

Gracie's End of Year Party

Well, Third Grade is officially behind us and we now have a Fourth Grader in our home! I have to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed every phase of Gracie's life from baby to toddler to little girl and now big girl and I hate to rush things along. That being said-I am SOOOO ready for this school year to be over! It has been trying in so many ways, and I'm just so proud that Gracie has made it through the toughest year of her life with grace and style! Here are a few shots from their Luau themed party.

She looks so happy to be there...

...oopsie...

...there's my happy girl!

Easter Morning

I have some catching up to do...so I'll start here! The Easter Bunny made it to our house with sweets and little gifts for our girls! Gracie and Georgia said they knew he would bring them everything they wanted! What good little girls we have!

Here is Gracie's basket-Sandals, a Lilly watch, uglydoll, and more...but she said her favorite was her jar of Lemon Curd from Williams-Sonoma! That bunny knew her for sure!

Georgia's Basket-A mermaid tail, doll, movie, homemade marshmellows, and snap caps!
